Hallelujah!
My Saturday was practically decadent! I must admit I’ve had real trouble with this whole making time for myself thing since Booger was born. I think the biggest shock for me after having a child was the fact that I could no longer do ANYTHING I wanted to do when I wanted to do it. This includes everything from watching TV to going to the freakin’ bathroom. At least it certainly felt like that in the beginning. As he’s gotten older it’s a little better.
Anyway, back to the Saturday… I began my day at 8AM which in itself is pretty decadent these days. The husband got up with the boy and let me sleep until 8. I got up and feed Booger his breakfast and then we played for a while. Around 9:30 he went down for his nap and the husband also went back to bed. They both slept for almost two. whole. hours! I chatted online with a friend, I posted to my blog, I read blogs, I checked my email. It was quiet and I was uninterrupted.
The day went on and my son and husband were in an excellent mood all day. Just before 3PM I left to go get my brows waxed. Ouch you say but it had to be done. It does hurt but I was sporting a Madonna circa 1985 look and it had to stop. From there I went for a massage. Not the relaxing kind but the deep tissue, I really need this but it sure does hurt kind. Again, it hurt but it had to be done. I returned home around 5 to a happy baby and a happy husband. It was picturesque.
The family and I went through the nightly routine and shortly after Booger went down for the night I left to go see a movie by myself. This is something that I have enjoyed doing for many years. I like picking a movie because I want to see and not having to compromise or worry about someone else’s opinion.
I finished the night reading blogs while sitting next to the husband on the couch as he watched The Karate Kid. All in all it was my new version of a perfect day.

it does sound like a perfect day! i’m glad you still got to see the movie — did you like it?
