I freakin’ hate naps

I suppose I have a love/hate relationship with them actually. I love when Booger goes down easy and sleeps a long time and wakes up happy. The problem is that this is a very rare occurrence. More often than not he fusses and screams and cries for 15-45 minutes before giving in to go to sleep. Since we do cry-it-out this means that one of us goes in and comforts him every 10 minutes or so until he finally goes to sleep.

Today was the battle of all battles and the little Booger ended up getting me to nurse him to sleep. This is something I do not do anymore. :| He fought the nap for a banner hour and 15 minutes. I finally went in having decided that I was just going to give up and bring him back out to the living room to play. He was poopy so I changed his diaper and because it was time for him to nurse I sat down in the glider and fed him. Well of course he fell asleep. He tricked me into nursing him to sleep!

I guess he didn’t really trick me per se, I mean I sort of knew that he would probably fall asleep while nursing him but I guess if I tell myself I didn’t nurse him to sleep on purpose I feel better about it. Silly, I know.

I know he isn’t the worst napper in the world because I’ve read and heard many moms talk about their amazing non-sleeping children, but what I would give for a little bit of consistency. I know, I know what an unrealistic thing to wish for from an 8-month old.
