Of snotty babies and broken husbands

By ImpostorMom

This seems to be what my life this week has been about. Boog and I were sick last week; I’m better, he’s not. The husband got the same cold and now is dealing with some serious back pain. Life is so much fun at our house.

I spent Tuesday afternoon and all day Wednesday home with Boog. He had a fever off and on but mostly was just really snotty and coughing up a storm. Poor thing would sleep for half an hour and then wake himself up coughing. He spent a lot of yesterday either in his car seat asleep or on me asleep. Luckily we aren’t having the same problem at night. Although the past three nights he’s started coughing so hard before bed that he looses his dinner and any milk that gets in him. Poor thing. Last night we managed to get it down to just one vomiting session instead of two so I guess that’s an improvement although my vote is for NO vomiting of any kind.

He’s back at daycare this morning and I’m back at work. I did notice when I was pumping this morning that he left me a little present on the front of my shirt. That’s right, a nice big patch of snot on my right boob. So sweet.

The husband is a whole different story. He has somehow hurt his back and I’m not quite sure what to do for him. Of course any suggestion leads him to believe that I think he’s faking it. He gets angry if I ask him to do something but when I offer to do things for him, like bring him his dinner, he says he can do it himself. Sheesh, can’t win for loosing.

I also do not understand the aversion to doctors that all men seem to have. Boog weighs 21 pounds now and he’s not getting any lighter. He cannot go on with his back hurting like this with a soon to be toddler. I can’t carry that kid around all by myself. I asked him again this morning if he called the doctor and he said he was going to give it one more day. Ugh.

Anyway, that’s all I got. :)

If you do figure out that aversion to doctors that men have, could you please share? I really don’t understand how they think they can whine for days about something to us untrained wives, but they won’t discuss it with a professional that might be able to, you know, actually help them in some way.

Ugh, I feel ya. Little Man is sick with a coughy, snotty cold that developed into a high fever ear infection. Fun times. Three rough nights in a row.

Hope the hubby will wise up and go to the doctor, if only so he’ll stop being a pain in your butt.

I am awarding you an Egel Award today. I think I’m supposed to say, “Congratulations! Your blog has been hatched!” LOL
