I'm so impressed by the homemade cards your husband makes! That sounds so neat!

My husband is usually very thoughtful in gift giving. He thinks of the perfect thing that is so sentimental or meaningful all the time. But one time I finally told him that every now and then, I'd just like jewerly or lingerie (pre-baby).

I won't even start on the not-me/us gifts we've gotten from extended family, especially his side!

For me, what makes a gift special is the thought behind it. It can be even the smallest thing, but if the person thought long and hard about it and why I might like it, then that means more than the biggest gifts (see my blog post today!).

I love the idea of your cards from your husband. My husband has always bought mine but he always puts a lot of thought and searching into it and they're always really great.
