I have had a seriously busy day and then I get a phone call from my day care provider to inform me that after Friday she can no longer keep Boog. You see she rents her current home and there is an issue with the landlord and home insurance that basically boils down to she has to close her business with about 4 days notice.
I am just beside myself. As some of you may remember, we moved to an in-home daycare back in September and it was not an easy decision for me then. It turned out beautifully and I love our provider now. I feel sick just thinking about having to find new care. Not only that but I have spent at least an hour or so a day with this woman since September and I feel terrible for her as well. Not only does she have to find a job but she also has to find day care for her two year old.
We have a couple of leads, there is a Montessori that was our original first choice and they may have an opening but it will most certainly be expensive. We can go back to our original day care but it will also be expensive and I wasn’t very satisfied with his care there. I can’t even think about trying out another in-home day care. The thought and trust that I had to put in to it is just too much for me to consider right now.

Wow that sucks. For the transition, can she go over to your house and watch Boog and her little one? For the same pay, of course. After all, you would be doing her a favor.

I was going to suggest the same thing as BB’s Mom… unless there are a bunch of other kids… that might be too much for your house. But if it’s just her kid and Boog?
