Well I thought that the daycare debacle was all settled and done but it fell apart again last night. That’s right, about 12 hours before the new week started. DP had set up her brother-in-law’s space for the daycare and invited all the parents to come by on Sunday afternoon.
All but one set came by and seemed fine with the set up. She called me about 6ish to say that one of the parents had called and decided that the space was too small and that she couldn’t do it. About two hours later another parent bailed and the third parent couldn’t be reached. DP called me in tears around 8. She told me to just bring Boog to her house and that she would keep him as long as she could until she found a job.
I feel so horrible for her. And so angry with these women too. Of course I don’t know anything for sure but I suspect that the same mother that was going to start keeping kids is doing just that. I suspect that the first mom that bailed called her after talking to DP and asked if she could keep her child. I’m dying to call myself and inquire just so I can find out what is really going on.
It wouldn’t do any good though, and frankly I’m tired of thinking/talking about it. DP is as well. Boog will go back to his old daycare when DP can no longer keep him. Hopefully when they move she’ll be able to reopen her daycare and we can go back to her. It just makes me sad. It’s such a crazy mess and I know DP is incredibly depressed about the entire situation. I just wish there was something I could do to help.
On the bright side, I’m taking DP to lunch on Thursday with our kids. After all if she just has mine and hers to deal with we should have ourselves a little field trip.

That has to be the most frustrating thing! Can you call one of the other moms just to see what is going on with all of them? Or maybe just let it all go and do what you are doing. Why does it always have to be such drama?

Well for one thing Im glad He gets to stay with her for a little bit longer..but on the other..what a mess!! I cannot imagine the stress that goes along with having to find good childcare…hope y’all enjoy your field trip though!!

I am officially exhausted just thinking about all of the drama. Really, I can only imagine how you must feel. It’s bad enough to have to make the decision of daycare vs. stay-at-home (as if it’s a choice for some of us-ha!), but then to have drama all around it is just not right.
Good luck with the continuing saga. I hope this is the absolute final plan and that nothing else changes (unless it’s for the better, of course).
