hormones a raging
evidence is on my face

I know I keep complaining about my skin, but seriously this is ridiculous. Every time I have a bad breakout about the time I get it all healed another massive zit (or two) pops up. I’m almost 30, shouldn’t I not have to worry about giant pimples on my face? Isn’t that a bonus of having made it out of my young adult years?
When my face breaks out, I get all self conscious about it. It doesn’t help that my husband is always like “oooo (sharp intake of breath) that looks painful.” :| Thanks, thanks for making sure I know people can and will notice the colossal growth on my face. I know that in all reality he’s not trying to point these things out so that I am more self conscious but that’s generally what happens.
When I get self conscious about it I start to pick at my face to try and make the pimples go away faster. We all know this never works. I know this never works but still I am compelled to do it. What I normally end up with is a sore or scab that takes far longer to go away than the zit would have it I’d just left the damn thing alone. What can I say it’s like a compulsion.
I also know that these things look wwwaaaayyy bigger to me than they do to people around me. It is most likely that others barely even notice the growths occurring on my face. That’s what I keep telling myself anyway.
OMG did I really just write a post about zits?! New low, new low. :)

When I was in high school my mom would say “Ooh, a pimple. Where did that come from?” WTH? I was like “From hell, where they all come from! ”

I actually used Clearasil and Oil of Olay Wrinkle Reducer last night. Now THAT doesn’t seem fair.

Oh, I hear ya! By our ages, we should NOT be breaking out. And yet, there’s another one. I’m so sick of it!
I’ve been breaking out regularly since I was 11. This is why I’m so good at makeup and won’t leave the house without it. I may be comfortable about my body, but not my complexion.
One thing that helps and is actually worth the expense is getting a facial. And supposedly sticking to the routine they tell you will continue to help, but I never do or it never does (I’m not sure which).

Lactic acid peels are the only things that keep me from being about to pass as a 32-year old with a 16-year old’s face. I agree, it’s not fair. We’ve suffered enough!

I’m with Kathryn – I’m using a cleanser that is supposed to fight wrinkles AND zits. That is SO unfair. I feel your pain.
