Haiku Friday
I like the new job
for the most part it is great
people are awesome
miss my old boss though
week has been long and stressful
micromanaging
what’s with the tantrums
the terrible twos my ass
starts way earlier
are we in trouble?
means he’ll be much worse later?
I am not a fan
he can be so sweet
and then my heart swells with love
then he gets angry
let the fit begin
throwing himself to the floor
I just ignore him
I hope that is right
gets over it pretty fast
his daddy’s temper
Job is good. The whole situation is weird because I am basically in two departments. My actual department where I do my work and then the other department where I report to my boss. Yes, I know it makes no sense but trust me the peons weren’t really consulted when that decision was made. So my actual boss is a bit of a micro-manager except he has no control over my actual job so he micro manages things like me leave time and it drives me bonkers. I was gonna try and try to stay in the good graces, that lasted about a week and a half (a week of which he wasn’t even there). Oh well, so much for that. Oh yeah and I’m not supposed to be discussing work here. What can I say? Apparently I’m a rule breaker—even when they are my own rules.
The munchkin has decided that an appropriate way to express his dislike for any given situation is to throw himself to the floor and scream. It’s great fun. So far my strategy is to ignore him and go about my business. He seems to get over it pretty quickly but he clearly has his father’s temper. My husband has made great strides in controlling his temper in his adult life and I can see it in our son already. Wow do we have our work cut out for us, I’m hoping (fingers crossed) that he doesn’t turn into a complete devil spawn when he actually turns two (or three cause I hear that is worse).
He is also the sweetest little guy sometimes, and it melts my heart. Not much can be done but to deal with it. I think we’ve passed our window for returning him and we’ve grown somewhat attached to the little guy, screaming and all.

Sasha has been throwing tantrums since he was 6 months old. A little more obvious that’s what they are now that he can stand and walk so we know when he’s thrown himself to the floor.
He has my temper. I had tantrums till I was 10 or so.
And we just leave him to his fit and walk away. It’s what my parents did and it seemed to work. Eventually every fit just ends and they really didn’t get anything out of it so it wasn’t encouraged.

Yeah, the terrible two’s start wayyy early. I think ignoring it is the best policy, if you can. Wait til he throws one of those fits in public. Good times.

They go through stages. It doesn’t mean he will be even worse later. He is probably just going through a transition stage. Ignore, ignore, ignore. And hang in there!

We’ve mostly moved past the tantrums. I’ve decided that kids who sign must go through that whole I’m So Mad I’m Going to Beat the Floor Phase early.

Micromanagers are so frustrating to work for! And also answer to more than one boss. It’s hard to explain to other people. Remember in Office Space when the main character talks about answering to 7 different bosses? I’ve had those projects.
Good luck with the tantrums. We’ve had only minor ones so far, but I see worse ones coming.
