In all truthiness I have no idea if having another child is easier than the first seeing as I only have the one. I would imagine that you are more confident in your abilities as a mother because well you’ve done the whole newborn thing before. You know they aren’t quite as fragile as they seem to be and that most of the minute crap we fret over as brand new moms is really just that…crap.

Of course there is also the unknown element of the older child. That wasn’t there before as you waded through those first few months with a new baby. It’s my hope that my son will be helpful when the time comes to add to our family but I guess that really depends on age.

I have been asked by others “what’s adding one more in the grand scheme of things?” I think that there is definitely an adjustment period but like most things that are difficult in life I suspect it is well worth it. I have read others’ accounts of the first time they witnessed their children bonding and their stories melt my heart.

There was a time when I questioned if we’d have another and now I’m pretty sure I know we will someday. There are so many people around me that are pregnant. My little sister, two of my good friends. And then there are the many, many bloggers that are pregnant right now as well. And it makes me start to feel that itch again. That “hmm it wouldn’t be so bad to be pregnant again” itch. But then I remember that our house is small and that daycare is crazy expensive and that we just aren’t ready yet. YET.
