What did you do this weekend?
We turned this:

Into this:

Which in turn created this:

necessitating a trip to the dump by my husband. And also this:

necessitating a trip to the recycling drop off by me. (Trust me this isn’t even half of what I took)
In addition to the recycling and landfill we also made two trips to goodwill. And OMG am I tired. On top of all that, in true Murphy’s Mother’s Law form I was on my way out the door to meet this lovely blogger for a stroll around the neighborhood Saturday morning when Boog proceeded to start vomiting every 10-15 minutes for 2 solid hours. He then took a nap and woke up dry heaving for another hour or two before he was finally able to keep a little bit of pedialyte down.
That makes our third stomach bug in a little over a month. I’m telling you, there is some sort of plague upon my family. I am hoping this particular virus came and went quickly enough that neither myself or my husband will catch it. I also washed my hands 473 times on Saturday so that can’t hurt. My wonderful mother drove three hours to watch the boy all day on Sunday so that we could perform the miracle of garage cleaning and I’m really hoping she doesn’t get this thing.
He was nice and grumpalicious all day on Sunday as he refused to nap for more than 30-45 minutes in any given stretch and that was only if he was in the stroller or car. He hasn’t been that bad with the napping since he was a wee babe. I think he was at the tail end of that virus so feeling better and frankly quite hungry but not quite ready to dive into eating real food. That would make me foul tempered as well. It didn’t help that his parents basically abandoned him all day with the occasionally pop in for some water and rest.
My mom did manage to get an entire day of one on one boy time which I know she loves, even if he was a little butt for the majority of it. I really cannot praise my mother enough for all she does for us. She drove three hours on Saturday to get here just in time to bathe a grumpy, sick toddler. And then spent all day Sunday with the same little tyrant only to turn around and drive three hours back after eating a quick dinner with me once the beast was tamed in his bed at 7 o’clock.
Next weekend I am supposed to be going out of town BY MYSELF for the first time since Boog was born. Murphy best keep his nose out of my business or there is going to be hell to pay. That’s all I’m sayin’.

i’m so impressed! good job :) where are you going this weekend?
The garage looks awesome! I’m very impressed!
That was awesome of your mom. She gets a special Mother’s Day present, doesn’t she?
And so sorry for yet another stomach bug. That sucks. Hope the rest of you don’t get it.

Oh, sure, go ahead and drop names like Tomato while you’re rubbing it in that you have family that can come watch the kid while you clean the garage. Do you know how many levels of jealous you caused? Good thing it all leveled out with the talk of yakking.

Um, your magazine selection is, um, interesting. :P
Glad Boog is better. And if Murphy sticks his nose in, we’ll gang up and kick his butt together.

I see you’re tossing out Playboy and Maxim. Good call. Your garage looks great! In my house, the garage is my husband’s domain, and the last time I tried to go in there, I couldn’t even open the door and I’m not exaggerating.
I hope Boog feels better and is over the vomiting for a long time.
