Haiku Friday

Haiku Friday

alone in the house
hubs is doing the daycare run
these moments are rare

drinking my coffee
no cartoon in the background
writing my haiku

heading back up north
visiting my mom again
things for us to do

took the day off work
this trip was already planned
it does mean more now

seeing a movie
the new Indiana Jones
a perk of grandma’s

I have tons to do
getting ready to leave town
relish the quiet

I had this brilliant idea to take Boog to daycare this morning for a half day while I run around like a mad woman packing all our crap in the car for the trek back up to my mom’s. Ahhhhhh, it’s so quiet and still. The husband is bringing back Chick-fil-a AND he got up with the munchkin this morning. Granted I got up about 20 minutes later but still that means I didn’t have the change the gross diaper than has now become a 6:45am habit of Boog’s.

Ordinarily I wouldn’t have taken him to daycare and he would be in the way and we would argue about who was doing what to get ready blah, blah, blah. Maybe it will be better this time. Damn I should have asked the husband to take the dogs to daycare too on his way. Oh well. Hope y’all have a good weekend.
