Tales of a big, blue octopus

By ImpostorMom

Boog is now obsessed with the show Oswald. It makes me long for the days of Jack’s Big Music Show. Jack’s is no longer a suitable viewing option as far as Boog is concerned. Yes, the husband and I have seen all 25 episodes of Jack’s enough times to have the finer plot lines memorized but still, it is somewhat more entertaining than the big, blue octopus. At least I like the characters.

Oswald is okay I suppose, at least he’s not screaming at you the entire time like a certain little Latina. Oswald is sometimes voiced by Fred Savage which I thought was sort of interesting and Madame Butterfly is Laraine Newman of early SNL fame. Hell even Michael McKean has made and appearance or two on Oswald. However I don’t find the characters to be all that bright. Clearly Oswald himself is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. And Henry is just an OCD, completely neurotic penguin. No surprise that he’s MY favorite.

None the less Oswald is his favorite show right now and I’m thankful something will hold his attention long enough for me to get ready in the morning or make dinner in the evenings. I had this great idea yesterday to try and look for a plush Oswald cause Boog would totally flip over a plush Oswald. I found a couple on ebay—for a hundred freakin’ dollars! Apparently they are collectible. Sorry Boog, you won’t be getting your very own Oswald to love on.

Although I do thing it would be cute for him to have one I gotta draw the line on a three-figure STUFFED ANIMAL that in all reality he will forget about in another couple of months, just like Jack’s. I still wish they made a Mel doll, even if we aren’t watching it every day now.

I think the the guy who was Squiggy on Laverne & Shirley is the penguin, too. We used to watch that show all the time — it was always so soothing to me for some reason. Like valium for tv.
